1. Hold a garage sale prior to your move and sell everything you don't need or use. This will put extra cash in your pocket and reduce your moving costs.
2. You can also contribute those unneeded items to a local charity. If you itemize your deductions, this charitable contribution will reduce your taxes or provide a larger refund. 3. Another alternative is to simply discard those items you no longer need and reduce you effort preparing to move and unpacking. As with the other tips, you will save on your moving costs.
